
Last week Full Figured Women made HERstory in New York City for the first Full Figured Fashion Week held June 25-27, 2009 in New York City. Women from around the world converged in Manhattan to celebrate their curves and individual styles.
The weekend began with a fabulous shopping event at Re/Dress Boutique in Brooklyn, followed by the first fashion and networking event of the weekend at the chic Club Blvd. The inaugural event, "The Designers Showcase and Networking" event featured designs by Ashley Stewart and en.v new york. Full Figured Fashion Week partnered with Giving for Purses And Pockets With A Purpose. Tracey V. Bell (Chairman and President, PPWAP) presented Gwen DeVoe, producer of FFFWeek with a special designed swarovski crystal embellished "My Love Doesn't Hurt" t-shirt designed specifically for PPWAP. On Friday, the Buyer's Market connected plus size fashion buyers and boutique owners with participating FFFWeek designers/suppliers in a private, one-on-one environment.
The afternoon featured a power packed Panel Discussion - The State of the Curvy Community,facilitated by Sharon Quinn, “The Original Runway Diva", and featured the following panelists:

The nightlife of New York was taken over by two events produced by Curvesity featuring an all night dance party at Stitch and a mini concert at the Sage Theater with none other than Queen Aishah – comedienne, actress, radio personality, and philanthropist, Crystal P., (Detroit's new Queen of Comedy) and The Glamazons, a plus size pop group that continues to show that talent knows no size limit.
Our full figured business owners got down to business during the "Marketing Your Business Online" sponsored by J Biggins Consulting and the Plus Marketing Group. Followed by a shopping soiree featuring clothing and accessories for all sizes of women.
But nothing could top the red carpet Full Figured Fashion Week Showcase at the historic Prince George Ballroom hosted by the beautiful and talented Kim Coles. The runway was flooded with 40 beautiful models showcasing designs by Ashley Stewart, Big Girls United (BGU), Candi Apple Couture, Agape Goddess Wear, Osun Designs, Monif C, Jewel Shannon Designs, LaMeica Designs, Robert E. Knight Designs, Qristyl Frazier Designs, Sealed with a Kiss (SWAK) Designs, and LaMeica Designs.
